Sakya Dechen Ling is delighted to announce the forthcoming visit of His Holiness Sakya Gongma Trichen to London at the invitation of Lama Jampa Thaye. This will be the His Holiness’ tenth visit to Dechen centres in UK and His first since 2010. As such it will be a highly auspicious event.

The programme for the event is as follows:

Sunday 28th August, 10.30am

The Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony

His Holiness will bestow the Bodhisattva vow, the crucial commitment to achieve Buddhahood for the benefit of all and the indispensable method of entering the Mahayana Buddhist path.

Sunday 28th August, 2.30pm

The Initiation of Namgyalma

His Holiness will bestow the initiation of Namgyalma, one of the principal deities of longevity and wisdom. The initiation derives from the lineage of the famed translator Bari Lotsava.

Monday 29th of August, 2.30pm

The Initiation of Vajrapani
Vajrapani is the embodiment of the enlightened power  of all Buddhas and his practice is particularly efficacious in dispelling obstacles.

This particular form of the deity, Chandra Vajrapani, was brought from India to Tibet by the great yogin Rechungpa.
