Diamond Sky: Preparing for Vajrayana

Buddhism & meditation classes - open to all

Wednesdays, 7.30 - 8.30pm

Saturdays, 10.30 - 11.30am

These classes give an accessible and practical account of the Buddhist path for anyone wishing to understand the essential points of Buddhism and gain a deeper understanding of the path to enlightenment. They will include instruction in and practice of calm abiding meditation.

The Four Buddha Days

Vajrayana pujas - open to all

Four saturdays in the year

The Tibetan Buddhist calendar has four main days in the year. These commemorate events in the life of the Buddha. It is said that the merit from dharma practice done on these days is multiplied many millions of times.

At Dechen London we recite the praise of the Twelve Deeds of Lord Buddha and perform the ritual practice of the Sixteen Arhats to celebrate these events on the nearest Saturday in the calendar. Anyone is welcome to sit in on Buddha days, even if you have not taken refuge.

Chenrezik - the Benefit of Beings that Pervades Space

Vajrayana puja - open to all

Sundays 10.30 - 11.30am

As the embodiment of the compassionate energy of the Buddhas, Chenrezik is one of the most widespread meditation practices in vajrayana Buddhism.

Tangton Gyalpo’s famous sadhana is practiced every Sunday at Dechen London and is open to all. If you are not a regular please let us know you will be coming by booking here.

Green Tara*

Vajrayana puja - restricted access

The goddess Tara is revered in all traditions of Vajrayana Buddhism as the embodiment of the liberating activity of all buddhas. As such her initiation and meditation are especially effective means of awakening one’s innate capacity for enlightened compassion.

Gonkar*

Gonpo Yizhin Norbu (Gonkar) is the wealth and protection bestowing emanation of Chenrezik. His practice was originally transmitted in the Shangpa Kagyu lineage and later preserved in the Sakya tradition where it is relied upon by many meditators.
